Smaller size:

- With MC, ch 4. Join with sl st to the first ch to form a ring.

Right Earflap:
- 1st row: Sl st in each of the next 5 sts. Ch 1. 1 sc in each of the next 10 sts. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked.
- **2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of next 10 sc. Turn.
- 3rd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. Sc2tog. 1 sc in each of the next 4 sts. Sc2tog. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
- 4th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of next 8 sc. Turn.
- 5th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. Sc2tog. 1 sc in each of the next 2 sts. Sc2tog. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.

Left Earflap
- Skip the next 15 (18) sts after the Right Earflap. Join MC with Sl st to next st. Ch 1. 1 sc in the same sp as last sl st. 1 sc in each of next 9 sts. Turn. Leave rem sts unworked. Work from ** to ** as given for the Right Earflap.
Earflap Edging:
- With RS facing, join A with sl st at the top corner of Earflap. Ch 1 and work 28 sc evenly around the sides and bottom of each Earflap. Fasten off.
Front Flap
- With RS facing, join A with sl st in the first skipped st at the center front between Earflaps. Ch 1. 1 sc in the same sp as last sl st. 1 sc in each of next 14 (17) sc. Turn.
1st to 3rd rows: Ch 1. 1 sc in each - sc across. Turn.
- 4th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. Sc2tog. 1 sc in each sc to last 3 sts. Sc2tog. 1 sc in last sc. Turn.
- 5th row: As 1st row. Rep 4th and 5th rows twice more. 9 (12) sc rem. Fasten off.
- Fold the Front Flap up and tack it to the body of the Hat, as shown in the photo.
Ties (make 2).
- Ch 21.
- 1st row: Sl st in 2nd ch from hook.
- Sl st in each ch to end of of ch.
- Fasten off.
- Attach ties to the bottom of each.
