What you need

Step By Step Pattern
BODY
- Round 1 – with Orange make an adjustable ring and work 6 sc into the ring, (OR ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook), do not join, place a marker to mark the first stitch of the next round (6 sts);
- Round 2-[2 sc in each st] 6 times (12 sts);
- Round 3-[sc in next st, 2 sc in next st] 6 times (18 sts);
- Rounds 4-5-sc in each st around (18 sts);
- Round 6 – [sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st] 2 times, 2 sc, [2 sc in next st, sc in next 3 sts] 2 times, (22 sts);
- Round 7-sc in each st around (22 sts); Change colour in the last sc and go on with White.
- Round 8-sc in each st around (22 sts);
- Round 9-[sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st] 2 times, 2 sc, [2 sc in next st, sc in next 4 sts] 2 times, (26 sts);
- Round 10-sc in each st around (26 sts); Change colour in the last sc and go on with Orange.
- Rounds 11-13 – sc in each st around (26 sts); Change colour in the last sc and go on with White.
- Rounds 14-15-sc in each st around (26 sts);
- Round 16- [sc in next 4 sts, 1 dec] 2 times, 2 sc, [1 dec, sc in next 4 sts] 2 times, (22 sts);
Start stuffing firmly the head with tiny pieces of fiberfill.
Change color in the last sc and go on with Orange.
- Rounds 17-18-sc in each st around (22 sts);
- Round 19-[1 dec, sc in next 4 sts,] 3 times, 1 dec, 2sc (18 sts); Change colour in the last sc and go on with White.
- Round 20-sc in each st around (18 sts);
- Round 21 – [1 dec, sc in next 4 sts,] 3 times, (15 sts);
- Round 22-sc in each st around (15 sts); Change colour in the last sc and go on with Orange.
- Round 23 – sc in each st around (15 sts);
- Round 24 – [sc in next 3 sts, 1 dec] 3times, (12 sts);
- Rounds 25-27-sc in each st around (12 sts); Stuff firmly, make 1 sl and finish off. Don’t close the opening because we must insert the tail first.
TAIL
- Round 1 – with Orange chain 8. Make 1 sc in the 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 5 ch, 5 sc in the last ch, working on the other side of the chain, sc in the next 5 sts, chain 1 turn, (16 sts);
- Round 2-sc in next 7 sts, 3 sc in the next st, working on the other side, sc in the next 7 st, chain 1 turn, (17 sts);
- Round 3-sc in next 8 sts, 3 sc in the next st, working on the other side, sc in the next 8 st, chain 1 turn, (18 sts);
- Round 4-sc in next 8 sts, 3 sc in the next st, working on the other side, sc in the next 8 st, chain 1 turn, (19 sts);
- Round 5-sc in next 10 sts, 3 sc in the next st, working on the other side, sc in the next 8 st, (19 sts);
Finish off and hide the thread between the stitches. Insert the tail in between the opening of the body and sew it closed.
SIDE FINS
- Round 1- with Orange chain 8. Make 1 sc in the 2nd ch from hook, sc in next 5 ch, 5 sc in the last ch, working on the
other side of the chain, sc in the next 5 sts, chain 1 turn, (16 sts); - Round 2-sc in next 7 sts, 3 sc in the next st, working on the other side, sc in the next 7 st, chain 1 turn, (17 sts);
Finish off by leaving a long end for sewing the fins to the body in a position that seems like to you. Insert the eyes with a dot of white glue between rounds 5 and 6 of the body.
BASE
- Instructions are given to make a base of 3,5 cm diameter. If your base is bigger or shorter, you must adjust the number of stitches.
UPPER PART
- Round 1 – With blue make an adjustable ring and work 6 sc into the ring, (OR ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook), do not join, place a marker to mark the first stitch of the next round (6 sts);
- Round 2-[2 sc in each st] 6 times (12 sts);
- Round 3-[sc in next st, 2 sc in next st] 6 times (18 sts);
- Round 4-[sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st] 6 times (24 sts);
- Round 5 [sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st] 6 times (30 sts);
- Round 6- [sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st] 6 times (36 sts);
- Rounds 7-12 – sc in each st around (36 sts);
Finish off with 3 sl. Thread a needle with invisible thread (Nylon) and sew all around little beads, corals, and shells in a position that seems pleasant to you.
LOWER PART
- Round 1 – With blue make an adjustable ring and work 6 sc into the ring, (OR ch 2, 6 sc in 2nd ch from hook), do not join, place a marker to mark the first stitch of the next round (6 sts);
- Round 2-[2 sc in each st] 6 times (12 sts);
- Round 3-[sc in next st, 2 sc in next st] 6 times (18 sts);
- Round 4-[sc in next 2 sts, 2 sc in next st] 6 times (24 sts);
- Round 5-[sc in next 3 sts, 2 sc in next st] 6 times (30 sts);
- Round 6-[sc in next 4 sts, 2 sc in next st] 6 times (36 sts); Finish off with 3 sl. Leave a long tail to sew the upper part to the lower one.
FINISHING
- With the help of pointed scissors or a nail, make a hole in the center top of your wooden half-sphere, the size of the skewer.
- Cut the skewer 4 cm long and glue it into the hole.
- Once dry, with blue nail polish (or any other acrylic colour) paint the skewer.
- Insert the upper part of the crochet half-sphere (in- between round 1) on the skewer and sew it closed with the crochet lower part.
- Insert the pointed skewer into the fish and you’re done!
