  • Caron® x Pantone™ (3.5 oz/100 g; 127 yds/116 m)
  • Version 1 or Version 2
  • Peach Blush Parfait (01011) 2 braids
  • Version 3
  • Faerie Cakes (01023) 2 braids
  • Size U.S. J/10 (6 mm) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
  • Stitch marker.

Step by step Pattern

Notes:

  • Before working with the Caron® x Pantone™ multishade yarn braid, separate each color link and wind into 5 separate balls for each braid.
  • Each color link will be referenced by its Pantone™ color # (see label).
  • Designate each different shade of the 5 separate yarn balls as Contrast A, B, C, D, and E as noted in the Materials section (or as desired).
  • Due to the knit amount of yarn in each shade, the pattern gauge must be matched to ensure successful results.
  • When working from the chart and joining a new color, work to the last 2 loops on the hook. Draw new color through the last 2 loops, then proceed in new color.
  • Carry color when not in use loosely across the top of the previous rnd and work sts around it to avoid stranding.

Step by step Pattern

  • With E ch 10.
  • 1st row: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook. 1 sc in each ch to end of ch. Turn. 9 sc.
  • 2nd row: Ch 1. Working in back loops only, 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
  • Rep last row until work from beg measures 21″ [53.5 cm] when slightly stretched. Do not fasten off .
  • Join last row and rst row tog with 1 row of sc to the form tube. Break E.
  • Beg working in rnds:
  • Foundation rnd: (RS). Join B with Sl st at the seam. Ch 1. Working along side edge of the ribbing, work 64 sc evenly around. Join with sl st, too rst sc. Place marker at the end of rnd.
  • 1st to 18th rnds: Ch 1. Work Chart to end of chart, noting 4-st rep will be worked 16 times. Join with Sl st too rst sc at the end of each round.
  • When the Chart is complete, break D and cont with C.
  • Shape top: 1st rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 6 sc. Sc2tog. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to rst sc. 56 sc.
  • 2nd rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 5 sc. Sc2tog. Rep from * around Join with sl st to rst sc. 48 sc.
  • 3rd rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 4 sc. Sc2tog. Rep from * around. Join with sl st too rst sc. 40 sc.
  • 4th rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 3 sc. Sc2tog. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to rst sc. 32 sc.
  • 5th rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in each of next 2 sc. Sc2tog. Rep from * around Join with sl st to rst sc. 24 sc.
  • 6th rnd: Ch 1. *1 sc in next sc. Sc2tog. Rep from * around. Join with sl st to rst sc. 16 sc.
  • 7th rnd: Ch 1. *Sc2tog. Rep from * around. 8 sc. Fasten o , leaving a long end. Draw the end tightly through rem sts and secure tightly.
