Size U.S. H/8 (5 mm) crochet hook or size needed to obtain gauge.
18 stitch markers. 20″ [51 cm] square pillow form.

Front:

  • With MC, ch 61. See diagram onpage 2.
  • 1st row: (RS). 1 sc in 2nd ch fromhook. 1 sc in each ch to end of the chain. Turn. 60 sc.
  • 2nd row: (WS). Ch 1. 1 sc in each first 4 sc. PM around post of last sc made. *1 sc in each of the next 5 sts. PMaround post of last sc made. 1 sc in next st. PM around post of last sc made. Rep from * to last 8 sc. 1 sc in each of the next 5 sc. PM around post of last sc made. 1 sc in each of the last 3 sc. Turn.
  • 3rd and 4th rows: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn.
  • 5th row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each of first 5 sc. 1 trip around first marked sc3 rows below. 1 trip around next marked sc 3 rows below. Next row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Fasten off.
Back (make 2 pieces alike)

Ribbing: With A, ch 7.

1st row: 1 sc in 2nd ch from hook.1 sc in each ch to end of the chain. Turn.6 sc.
2nd row: Ch 1. Working in back loops only, 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn. Rep last row until work from beg(when slightly stretched) measures 20″ [51 cm]. Do not fasten off.

Proceed as follows:

1st row: Turn work sideways.Ch 1. Work 60 sc evenly alongside Ribbing. Turn. PM at end of row.
2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn. Rep the last row until work from the marker measures 11″ [28 cm]. Fasten off.

Finishing

  • Joining Front and Back: OverlapBack pieces to match the Front, with ribbed sections in the centre to create an opening to insert pillow form. With RS facing, join MC with sl st to any corner st of Pillow. Ch 1. Proceed with Bobble Pompom

Edging as follows:

  • 1st rnd: (RS). Join A with Sl St to any corner. Ch 1. 1 sc in same st aslast sl st. Ch 4. (Yoh and draw up a loop. Yoh and draw through 2 loops on hook) 10 times all in 4th ch from hook. Yoh and draw through all 11 loops on the hook. Ch 1 tightly to close- Bobble Pompom made.
