The instructions are written for the smallest size. If changes are necessary for larger sizes, the instructions will be written 6 (12-18) mos. Numbers for each size are shown in the same color throughout the pattern. When only one number is given in black, it applies to both sizes.

Notes:

  • Ch 3 at the beg of the row counts as dc.
  • The dress is worked in one piece from the neck edge down.
  • The center back has an opening for buttons, and then the Body is joined into rnd.

Next rnd: Ch 1. Working from left to right, instead of from right to left, as usual, work 1 reverse sc in each around. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off.

REVERSE SC

Sleeve edging: Join yarn with sl stto first ch of ch-2 (4-5). Ch 3. 1 dc in each of next 1 (3-4) ch. Working in back loops only, 1 dc in each of the next 21 (26-30) sc. Join with Sl st to the top of ch-3. Fasten off.

Button band: 1st row: (RS). Join yarn with sl st to the top corner at the back neck opening. Ch 1. Work 16 (18-20)sc evenly down back neck opening to dividing and. Turn.

2nd and 3rd rows: Ch 1. 1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn. Fasten off at the end of the last row.

Buttonhole band: 1st row: (RS). Join yarn with sl st to the bottom of the back neck opening. Ch 1. Work 16 (18-20)sc evenly up back neck opening to foundation chain. Turn.

2nd row: Ch 1. 1 sc in first sc. [Ch 2. Skip next sc. 1 sc in each of the next 4(5-5) sc] twice. Ch 2. Skip next sc.1 sc in each sc to end of row. Turn 3 buttonholes.

Drawstring:

Work foundation as follows: Ch 2. Yoh and draw up a loop in 2nd ch from hook. Yoh and draw up a loop in one loop on a hook(“chain”).
